Bible Story (Genesis 22)
God had given Abraham and Sarah a miracle son named Isaac after many years of waiting. They loved Isaac so much! One day, God asked Abraham to do something that sounded very strange. He told Abraham to take Isaac up a mountain and offer him as a sacrifice. That must have been very hard for Abraham to hear.
But Abraham trusted God completely. He believed that somehow God would make everything turn out right, even if he didn’t understand how. So, he took Isaac on a journey to a mountain called Moriah.
Isaac noticed they had wood and fire but no lamb for the sacrifice. He asked his father, “Where is the lamb?” Abraham gently answered, “God will provide.”
When they reached the top, Abraham built an altar and got ready to obey God. At the last moment, just before anything happened to Isaac, an angel called out to Abraham, telling him to stop! God had seen Abraham’s heart and knew he truly trusted Him.
Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught in a bush! God had provided just like He promised. Abraham offered the ram instead and named the place “The Lord Will Provide.”
This story helps us remember that even when things are confusing or hard, we can trust God fully, and He will always provide what we need.
