Bible Story (Genesis 24)
Abraham was getting very old, and he wanted to find a wife for his son, Isaac. So he called his trusted servant and gave him an important job: travel far away to Abraham’s homeland and find a wife for Isaac who believed in God.
The servant promised to obey and began the long journey. When he got to the town, he stopped at a well and prayed to God. He asked for something very specific: “Let the right girl offer me water and also offer water to my camels.” This would show she had a kind heart and was the one God had chosen.
Before the servant even finished praying, a beautiful young woman named Rebekah came to the well. She did exactly what the servant had prayed for—she offered him water and then watered all his camels too! The servant knew right away that God had answered his prayer.
He gave Rebekah gifts and asked if he could meet her family. When he told them everything that had happened, they agreed that God was clearly at work. Rebekah said yes to going with him to marry Isaac, even though it meant a big journey.
When Isaac saw Rebekah coming, he welcomed her, and the Bible says he loved her. This beautiful story shows us how God guides and answers prayer when we trust Him.
